The concert choir of the Berlin Girls Choir (rehearsal: Sabine Wüsthoff) – singers aged 13 to 17 – dedicated themselves to a musical genre that is unusual for them. They performed  at a concert of the Berlin Symphony Orchestra entitled “Cavalleria & Chorus” on 19 March 2023 in the Berlin Philharmonie, together with the girls choir and women choir of the Schola Cantorum Leipzig and the Kölner Männer-Gesang-Verein, masterpieces of opera choral literature.

With selected opera choruses by Wagner, Nicolai, Offenbach, Tchaikovsky and Verdi, the approximately 160 singers, conducted by Bernhard Steiner, delighted their audience, including many (accompanying) relatives. At the end there was a standing ovation, for which the artists thanked the audience with a classic – the Prisoners’ Chorus from the opera Nabucco by Guiseppe Verdi.
